Jojo's Bizzare Adventure by famous mangaka Hirohiko Araki is the generation-spanning tale of the Joestar bloodline's fight against evil. Vampires and evil ancient gods fell to the Joestar family's righteous punches, and the cruel Dio was bested by the family's Stand powers. Part 4 isn't any different, as while the setting and evil are far smaller, the threat is just as real. Continuing and evolving the stand power system developed in Part 3, Part 4, "Diamond is Unbreakable," has over 20 new stands with its new cast.

Araki described Stands as the physical representation of a person's "life energy." Where the Stands in Part 3 came in all shapes and sizes, the stands in Part 4 became far more bizarre. This is also where the Stand naming convention became normalized to reflect musical artists rather than Arcanas. As series protagonist Josuke Higashikata takes on the role of the protector of his small-town home, Morioh, he encounters countless foes and allies with unique abilities. 10 Bad Company, the Invincible Army

Introduced Episode 4: The Nijimura Brothers, Part 2

Bad Company is the Stand belonging to Keicho Nijimura, the elder brother of one of the best Joebros in the series. Instead of a single entity, Bad Company is a collection of toy miniature soldiers and military vehicles, equipped with miniature ammunition, rockets, and weaponry. Bad Company consists of 60 footmen and four helicopters modeled after the Boeing AH-64 Apache. The Stand follows the user's orders without question.

Araki wanted to make Bad Company both a test and a tease of how different Stands can be. Before its introduction, the stands had some similarity in shape or design. Araki wanted Bad Company to be far different, which is where the creation of the Colony Type emerged. The idea for this Stand also came about from GI Joe action figures. The unique nature of this Stand helps separate it from the rest, and its exciting fighting tactics also make for a great fight against Josuke.

9 Cinderella Gives the Townsfolk Miracles

Introduced Episode 20: Yukako Yamagishi Dreams of Cinderella

Cinderella is the Stand of the facial surgery doctor Aya Tsuji. Cinderella can replace the parts of a person's body. Using this ability, the user, Aya, can rearrange her clients' features however they want, permanently or for 30 minutes. Aya also understands physiognomy, the scientific term for the process of facial reading, and can use this science to alter someone's love life. The permanent restructuring is used when antagonist Yoshikage Kira needs to completely restructure his facial features to avoid being caught by Josuke.

Aya falls into irrelevancy after this encounter. Many of Part 4's characters are various one-off foes or allies rather than permanent cast members. This means that Cinderella makes little of an appearance in Part 4. Cinderella has a humanoid Stand robot with long mechanical extremities and noticeably a spherical bottom. As far as Stands goes, it's incredibly feminine, with fashionista glasses on its face. Araki ensured that Cinderella had a feminine silhouette to reflect its user and a surgical mask to reflect how the Stand is used.

Aqua Necklace is the Stand of Anjuro Katagiri, who is introduced as a cold-blooded criminal with a rap sheet that makes him one of the most terrifying foes the Joestars have ever faced, and the darkest element in Diamond is Unbreakable. His Stand only adds to its creep factor as it has the ability to possess the properties of any liquid. Aqua Necklace and Anjuro become the first Stand Users that Josuke and Jotaro face, spawning Josuke's goal of defending his hometown.

Aqua Necklace has a creepy design that reflects its user. The Stand is wet and slimy and covered in leering eyes. The Stand is based on the dogū from the Jōmon period. There is a horrific play with this design element. The dogū often represents the female body and fertility; to have Aqua Necklace, which is the Stand of a known woman assaulter, be modeled after a figure that represents womanhood and good births is highly concerning and horrific.

7 Stray Cat Controls the Air

Stray Cat is the Stand of Tama, also the Stand itself. Tama is a street cat struck by the Stand Arrow, a powerful object with unique rules. It's killed by a broken beer bottle but reincarnated into a plant in Kira's garden. When Stray Cat becomes a plant, it's confused but not disturbed by its new body and nature. When it spots the woman technically married to Kira, it attacks her with its Stand ability, sparking a fight between Kira and Stray Cat.

Stray Cat is one of the unique Stands, perfect for Part 4's unique setting; while having an animal-based Stand User isn't entirely new, having one that recently died and now became the Stand itself would be. Stray Cat's design has two large, curbed petals and a thick stem acting as its arms. As it matures, the petals close and overlap practically, creating a new species of creature.

6 Highway Star Has a Relentless Pursuit

Highway Star is the Stand belonging to Yuya Fungami, which was initially an enemy but became an ally. His Stand has complicated abilities. Instead of directing damage straight to the user, Highway Star has a very long range and pursues its target until it can attack them before taking their nutrients with a touch. To pursue its target while keeping it away from Yuya, Highway Star can dismember itself, create rooms, and have an enhanced sense of smell.

Highway Star looks like its user but is also exceptionally excellent. The net pattern adds to its regal aesthetic, and the goatee reflects the pharaoh's postiche. The net pattern gives a great visual effect when Highway Star begins to dissemble itself, almost like a 3D image in a 2D space. This ability was inspired by the Daruma Otoshi children's game, where children in Japan would hit a daruma doll with a small hammer and try to make each segment of it drop without letting all the pieces fall at once.

5 The Hand Could Have Been Dangerous

Introduced Episode 3: The Nijimura Brothers, Part 1

Belonging to Okuyasu Nijimura, The Hand is the primary tool of the friend of Josuke Higashikta, a Shonen protagonist unlike any other. The Hand has one of the most potent abilities in the franchise. Able to eliminate space with a single swipe of the hand, theoretically there's nothing that could defeat or stop The Hand. It is even able to eliminate attacks from other Stand Users. However, Araki can nerf this powerful ability by giving the Stand to Okayasu, whose slow and straightforward thinking practically makes it useless.

As a humanoid stand that does a lot of fighting, Araki ensured that The Hand looks fabulous in all aspects of its design. Its attire is similar to that of a football player's but with several spikes on the pads to reflect Okayasu's delinquent personality. It has the symbols for an American dollar and the Japanese yen on a towel-like object that drapes over its shoulders, which reflects Okayasu's fashion sense. Araki mentions that the stand has headlight-shaped eyes but a visor that covers its vision to reflect how Okayasu is a bit too dumb to use it fully.

4 Heaven’s Door Is a Perfect Stand for Jojo’s Favorite Character

Introduced Episode 14: Let's Go to the Manga Artist's House, Part 1

Heaven's Door belongs to Rohan Kishibe. Rohan is a character that many fans adore. Inspired by detective-like characters and possibly some aspects of Araki's life, it only makes sense that Rohan would have one of the best Stands in the series, both in design and power. Heaven's Door is a weak-close-range stand better suited for investigation than combat. With its power, it can turn any body part into a book. In that book would be all the information on the subject, including memories and knowledge on their Stands. Heaven's Door is so powerful that it can affect the undead and ghosts and even remove a memory by affecting the page. Rohan can even write a command into someone's mind so they follow it.

At first, Heaven's Door does not have a physical appearance, but when it does gain one, it reflects one of Rohan's manga characters, Pink Dark Boy. There's not much known bout the Pink Dark Boy, but he does fight with a bow and arrow, similar to the arrow that gives Stand users their Stands. Its simple design makes it iconic as it is the most human-looking of the Stands, even seen with its ability to create distinct facial expressions.

3 Echoes and All of Its Acts

Echoes belong to Koichi Hirose and are unlocked amid a battle between Keicho and Josuke. Echoes can take on different forms, referenced as ACT1, ACT2, and ACT3. These acts all have a different effect on Echoes Stand Ability. ACT1 can create sounds by writing the onomatopoeia on the surface. ACT 2 can do the same but with sound effects. And ACT3 can freeze or stop something by increasing its gravity. He also gains the ability to curse in English, which makes him a great supporting character.

Echoes strike out against the other stands simply because they have different forms, changing the stand's design but keeping many of its core elements. Making a stand gives the same vibe as a Pokemon evolving throughout its journey. This decision is emphasized as Araki wanted Echoes to reflect Koichi's growth into manhood, so he designed each Act as a stage of life before adulthood. ACT1 looks like a larva, and ACT2 looks like a child. ACT3 is supposed to reflect Koichi but as a Stand.

2 Crazy Diamond, the Stand for the Kindest Jojo

Introduced Episode 1: Jotaro Kujo! Meets Josuke Higashikata

The perfect Stand for one of the kindest Joestars, Crazy Diamond, belongs to Josuke Higashikata. Mighty in strength and speed, comparable to Star Platinum, it uniquely can heal or repair objects and people. Yet it couldn't heal Josuke himself. This symbolizes how Josuke will save others over himself at any time, which makes him the perfect protector of the town. Araki designed Crazy Diamond to be the ultimate kindness.

Crazy Diamond is covered in heart-shaped armor, reflecting Josuke's fashion style and Crazy Diamond's restoration ability. Though the Jojo series often is featured in different colorations, Crazy Diamond's most known color scheme is light blue and pink, which could symbolize how Josuke lives and acts the way he wants to without fear of judgment. Noticeably on Crazy Diamond's head is a helmet that resembles a Corinthian helmet worn in Ancient Greece. Based on physical evidence, the Greeks saw the Corinthian helmet as more of a symbol of glory and romanticism than combat. Another way that Araki makes Crazy Diamond kind is by being a fighter.

1 Killer Queen Is the Best Stand in Part 4

Introduced Episode 21: Yoshikage Kira Just Wants to Live Quietly, Part 1

Killer Queen is the Stand that belongs to Yoshikage Kira, one of the series' best villains, and it not only has a tremendous and fitting powerset and an excellent design. It also features the first Stand awakening to a new power after a Stand User is hit with the arrow again. At first, Killer Queen's ability allows Kira to charge any object with a bomb by touching it. Matching Kira's desire to live a life of murdering in secret, anyone Killer Queen kills is completely vaporized to the molecular level, leaving no trace of the body. The explosion also doesn't even leave a sound as it kills. Later on, Killer Queen unlocked the ability to use Bites the Dust. A new bomb attack that places Killer Queen in a host's body, which, if that host reveals Kira's ability in any way, triggers Killer Queen to explode and send everyone back in time for one hour, creating a time loop effect.

Besides its cool powerset, Killer Queen's design is distinct, horrifying, and fitting for Kira. Fashioned after a cat and a skull, Killer Queen's design is not just a random combination of elements. The cat symbolizes Kira's predatory nature, while the skull represents death and the macabre, reflecting Kira's sinister personality. Combined with leather-like gloves, belts, and kneecaps, Killer Queen's design evokes the darkness surrounding Kira and the eeriness a cat can possess, especially as it stares at someone. Araki would state numerous times that Killer Queen was one of his favorite Stands design-wise.
